One UFO Finished...Adri V2976

Just a quick post on this one.A couple of years ago, I bought this black and white herringbone (yes, herringbone again) linen and I made culottes. They didn't fit well and I just cast them aside and decided to make the jacket from this pattern:

Well, I started it but it was late August and I decided to leave it for spring (2008). Here it is spring 2009 and I decided it had to be done before I can go on to a new project. My new thing is to alternate one new garment with a UFO. So this is what Adri 2976 looks like.
The culottes have now morphed into wide legged cropped pants, by the way.

The fit isn't great (the jacket is snug across the bust ) and if my daughter likes it , she can have it. But,Tamara be forewarned that this is linen and although I washed and dried the fabric three times in hot water and hot dryer respectively a la Sandra Betzina, it is still quite wrinkly.

More pics here.

I like it on you Diana. It looks like a very comfortable summer outfit. Hope you had a great Mother's Day!

That's a nice looking outfit. I know what you mean about wrinkling though. Very annoying.

It looks great on you. Doesn't matter if you can't do it up...that is the situation with all my jackets at the moment ;(

Well done too on finishing that UFO.

It looks great. The good thing about linen is that people expect it to be wrinkled and it's ok!

This is absolutely fabulous...not even close to a "UFO save"....it looks like you did this all thought out and on purpose!!! What a fabulous outfit!

I love the colour and the style -too bad you don't feel 100% comfortable with this... But it still feels nice, finishing up an UFO, doesn't it?! ;)

I know - I want to love linen but it is so wrinkly! I have to just get over that. I have some pale green linen waiting for after the prom dresses!

I think the outfit looks great on you, looks like a keeper to me. I have several UFO's that I need to finish. Guess I should do the alternate thing like you.hmmmmm?

Diana, this looks great on you. I really like the colors. I have a few linen tops and in the heat and humidity here they wrinkle just when you look at them! But it's such a nice fabric.
Good job!

I have this pattern but haven't made the jacket - I've made the top and the dress. Yours turned out really nicely and I"m looking for something to make a linen jacket. Maybe I'll try this one.
