UFO # 1 for 2014

There has been NO sewing going on here (well, except for my sewing students who spent the whole day here yesterday ), because of bathrooms renovations and the ensuing mess! However, I do have a UFO to show you.

This was my first sewing project of 2014, a pair of tailored pajamas. I started them last spring and let them age in a basket. At Christmas, I wished I had a new pair of jammies so I got to it right after and here they are.

The fabric is a nice cozy rayon twill with covered buttons, a bias trim and piping  made with a quilting cotton. I have no idea which pattern I used. It wasn't in the basket with the pj's.

I've worn these several times for both sleeping and lounging and I love them. It felt so good to finish a UFO that I've sort of promised myself to do one a month. We'll see.

I didn't get to church today because of bad weather (what else is new?) so I cut out a muslin for a coat I had hoped to make out of wool I bought in Paris. The coat will now wait for next fall, but I hope my muslin will be a wearable one.

I have high hopes for a good few days of sewing this week before I have to start cleaning out and moving my Sewing Room to it's new location in the basement Work is suppose to start on it next week! Yay!

I sincerely hope you all sewed something great this week.

Oh, and before I go, you want to see something scary?!!!!!!!!!!! This was taken five minutes ago!

Love the jammies! At first I didn't understand, I thought you were calling them a UFO and couldn't understand why? Especially since they were sooooo cute!

Sorry about the snow...it's taken over and it's everywhere...*sigh*

Very nice job!
I've been watching the news about the extreme weather conditions that you've been getting in some places in the U.S.... Here we usually don't get any snow (sometimes we do get hail) but we're having massive amounts of rain and very strong winds... The place where I used to live with my parents (near the seashore) was flooded because of the huge ocean waves. The weather has been really strange lately...

Lovely PJ's, it is such a sense of accomplishment to finish off something that has been languishing for a while! - that is what I have been making this weekend!

And I love the snow - we get a lot here in Alberta, and I get excited each time the snow falls. It was such a rarity to see it whilst growing up in the UK that I love it now!! I could do without the -30c temperatures though!

Cute jammies. I need a few new ones. They are perfect for lounging during these cold, snowy winter days. Like you I'm serious about tackling some of my UFO's. Stay warm.

Ooh, pretty jammies! Piping and covered buttons too. Sometimes I wonder why we leave things such as this liner on in the UFO pile for so long. Something new and shiny, I guess! You're getting a new sewing room and a new bathroom, is that right? Construction in this weather must have it's own set of challenges. That snow is pretty from where I sit, looking out at tropical plants! Enjoy your PJ's!
