I just got back from Ottawa where I met Riley for the first time. Needless to say, it was love at first sight. Here she is at five months last Wednesday..
Her Nana sure hated to leave her behind! Please don't take offence at the "Yankees Suck" T-shirt. It was a joke from my son to my husband who is a die hard Yankees fan.
While in Ottawa, I didn't get to visit C&M Textiles like I had planned but I did get to Fabricland where there was a $5.99 sale on Vogue patterns. I picked up this lovely to make for my son's wedding in August.
I intend to use a raspberry silk dupionni for it. I'm also hoping to make a little jacket of some sort so my arms will be covered for photos.
Here are the other patterns I picked up.
I want to make a sleeveless dress out of this one. Has anyone else made this? Are there any glitches?
This will be for the fall probably but I don't know which fabric from my stash I'll use.
As for this Marci Tilton, I thought it would be a nice basic pattern to have on hand.
I had hoped, while I was in Ottawa, to get some photos of Tamara wearing some of the pieces I made her this winter, but the baby got in the way of that.
Now I have to catch up on my favorite blogs. I hope you've had time to sew this week.

Riley is a cutie. Fantastic dress pattern for the wedding.
Ah she has such an adorable face.
You picked some very nice patterns. I have the Sandra Betzina one but haven't made it yet, story of my life lately :))))
Riley is so gorgeous. No wonder you didn't get any sewing related stuff done!
I like the patterns you have picked. I'll be interested to see how the Sandra Betzina one turns out. She has some interesting ideas, not always to my taste ... lol
I think the rapsberry silk duponi will look stunning in the pattern you've chosen.
I love the dress pattern. I'd like to make this with sleeves added as a day dress.
Riley is adorable!!! That pattern will be lovely for a wedding!
Love that proposed wedding pattern. And Riley is soooo cute.
I can't resist a adorable baby shot!! I have the Marcy Tilton pattern- picked it up at the sale last week too. I'll be interested in seeing what you do with it!
Oh, you don't sound at all like a grandma! Ha! Isn't it the absolute best?
Diana, I am SO looking forward to seeing that Kay Unger dress all stitched up. A little shrug or trapeze jacket with no collar would look fabulous. Or you could make a wrap with a coordinating print...
Your little Riley is a treasure!! Congratulations, she is beautiful.
Diana,
Check out this picture.
It's a little bolero jacket that would be perfect!
Diana,
The dress is stunning, can't wait to see it in ras[berry dupiononi! I pages thru many of your posts, love your work!
